The Psychodynamic Approaches for Professionals in Medicine, Teaching and Mental Health short course will develop your understanding of psychodynamic, organisational and psychosocial theory and their application to everyday work-based situations and interactions.
You will enhance your techniques in self-awareness and emotional sensibility and will be able to apply these within a professional setting. You will also gain a deeper understanding of how to evaluate common diagnostic categories and clinical symptoms using analytical and psychosocial approaches.
The course will cover:
- the social and historical context of psychoanalysis
- psychoanalytic and organisational theory
- the impact of social and cultural factors within organisations
- unconscious structures and dynamics that may exist in organisations.
The Psychodynamic Approaches for Professionals in Medicine, Teaching and Mental Health is ideal for those working in medical, education or therapeutic settings, or those who are working therapeutically within any organisation. This course is also suitable for those who are interested in a future career in psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy. The course will contribute towards both personal and professional development.
You will learn through interactive group sessions and reflective exercises, using real examples of the topics and exploring personal responses. This will build your capacity for using reflective practices, which sit at the core of psychoanalytic approaches.
