Overview
This Inclusive Entrepreneurship: Supporting Entrepreneurs course supports disabled individuals wishing to launch innovative and entrepreneurial ventures. It takes a person-centred approach, providing you with the essential skills needed to create and grow your own enterprises while navigating challenges.
Developed by Jacqueline Winstanley FRSA (Founder and CEO of Universal Inclusion) in 2012, this empowering course helps disabled individuals turn innovative ideas into successful businesses. With years of experience in assistive technology and inclusive learning, we ensure that every participant on the course receives personalised support.
The course will cover:
- practical business skills such as health and safety and food hygiene
- marketing and social media skills
- business planning and strategy skills
- an introduction to digitalisation and artificial intelligence.
The course will conclude with an exciting pitch day, allowing you to present your business ideas with confidence, with the support of your peers. Join us to discover how innovation and enterprise can open new doors for your career.
You will be supported throughout the course with mentorship from an experienced entrepreneur. We ensure wellbeing is embedded throughout the course, recognising the importance of wellbeing and mental health on entrepreneurial success.
You will receive a Birkbeck certificate of participation upon completion of the course.
This course is non-credit bearing, so carries no credit points.

Most of our short courses have no formal entry requirements and are open to all students.
This short course has no prerequisites.
As part of the enrolment process, you may be required to submit a copy of a suitable form of ID.
International students who wish to come to the UK to study a short course can apply for a Visitor visa. Please note that it is not possible to obtain a Student visa to study a short course.
